Are my images safe and private?

Yes, absolutely. The entire background removal process happens on your computer using JavaScript in your browser. Your files are never sent to or stored on any server.

What's the catch? Why is it free?

There isn't one. The 'catch,' if you can call it that, is that the first time you use the tool, your browser needs to download the AI model (a few megabytes). This might take a moment on slower connections. The site is a personal project, not a corporate venture.

Which quality setting should I use?

It's a trade-off. 'Fast' is quickest but less detailed. 'Quality' is the default and offers a great balance. 'Ultra' is the most precise, especially for hair and fur, but requires the largest download and is the slowest to process.

Why does the output look weird?

Images with a clear subject and a distinct background work best. A portrait of a person against a blurry landscape is ideal. A photo of a white cat in a snowstorm might be... challenging, even for the 'Ultra' model.
